[NEW PROJECT] '2004' - Joey Twelv
Coming out of Cambridge, young up & coming artist Joey Twelv has been dropping infectious tracks for a while. Rapping over mellow beats, the nasally, talented young artist has been impressing consistently over the past year. When I heard All Dat for the first time months ago before he took it down, I knew it was a glimpse into what this young artist was capable of. Twelv combines a new age style with a "blog-era" influence to tap into a sound that I haven't heard much of over the past 3-4 years.
"a look into a teenage mind rendering both pessimism and hope." love u joeytwelv
With the release of '2004' Joey delves deep into the problems plaguing the teenage life. With lyrical proficiency, Joey sheds light on the highs and lows of love, friends, drugs, family and more. Seeing others make the same mistakes he did, Twelv reflects and analyzes life chasing his dreams on "Do You Love Me?". Flirting with success, he can't seem to stay focused on "LOVE". Seemingly escaping his problems, at least for the night, Joey finds himself feeling like the man on the infectious, anthemic All Dat". Back to fighting demons, Twelv raps over vintage samples on "MONSTERS" prod. ProG. Focused on his future, Joey isn't looking back on "Walking Backwards". Combing infectious flows with a lyrical prowess usually lacking in todays climate of music, Twelv appears to have figured it all out. Don't miss this 9-track diary of a teenage mind.
